Superstar Nazril “Ariel” Ilham, the front man of rock-band Peterpan, will soon be tried in Bandung, West Java after police detectives finished and handed-over his dossier to state prosecutors.
Attorney General’s Office spokesperson Babul Khoir Harahap said Wednesday prosecutors at the Bandung Prosecutors’ Office had studied the dossier and would bring the case to the Bandung District Court within few weeks.
“The investigation into this case has concluded that locus delicti [site of the incident] of this case is in Bandung territory, which is Capung’s house in Jl. Antapani, Bandung,” Babul told the press at his office.
Capung is Ariel’s partner in his music business with Peterpan.
Babul reiterated that Capung’s house was not the place where Ariel taped his sex scenes with two high-profile TV presenters Luna Maya and Cut Tari.
“Ariel is not charged with adultery and therefore the locus delicti is not at the place where he had sex with the female celebrities,” Babul explained, but refused to disclose where the sex scenes really took place.
The singer has been charged with the controversial 2008 Electronic Information and Transaction Law and the Criminal Code on adultery and the 2008 Pornography Law for allegedly helping spread porn contents.
Luna and Cut Tari have also been named suspects and charged with the Criminal Code on adultery. Unlike Ariel, the two were not detained.
Detectives at the National Police's detective directorate have yet to hand over their dossiers to prosecutors.
Ariel is facing a maximum punishment of 12 years in prison.
